From spoken to written
A useful idea deserves
more than a timestamp.
See how a spoken idea can become a section your reader can return to. This original sample shows the kind of structure you can work toward.
Original sample transcript
The idea, as spoken
“Before I plan the week, I put all the loose ends on one page. The client email, the lesson I haven’t finished, the idea I don’t want to lose. Then I ask: if only one thing moved forward this week, what would matter? I make the next action small enough to put on my calendar. And I leave some space, because the week never goes exactly to plan.”
Your own workshop, lesson, or teaching transcript can be the starting point.
The Weekly Reset
Make room for the work that matters.
Chapter 02
Choose one useful outcome
Ask yourself: if only one thing moved forward this week, what would matter? Name a result you can recognize, then choose the next action that would move it closer.
Complete these two lines
This week, I want to move ______ forward. The next action I can take is ______. If the second answer contains several tasks, choose the first one.

Ch. 01Workflow illustration
Watch a transcript become a manuscript draft.
An illustration of the transcript-to-draft workflow. It is not a completed customer book or a sales result. Your generated manuscript requires editorial and file review.
Ch. 02How it works
From what you teach to something they can take away.
Bring your source material, review the draft and shape it for your reader. These six steps take you from your first input to files you can check and share.
- Step 01
Bring your source or an idea
Upload the caption file you download from YouTube Studio, paste a transcript or notes, or upload a .txt, DOCX or text PDF you own or have permission to reuse. You can also start from a book idea or the guided setup, which adds a 1-credit research brief. Videos without captions are not transcribed; paste a transcript instead.
- Step 02
Check the source text
Read the source or research brief before drafting. If a video transcript is incomplete, start a new project with your corrected transcript or notes. Check permissions, quotations and important context before continuing.
- Step 03
Give your ideas a structure
VidBook creates an outline and drafts chapters from source sections, at 1 credit per chapter. Drafting continues automatically from the outline; there is no outline-approval checkpoint. Review the resulting manuscript rather than treating it as a verified account of your source.
- Step 04
Read it like your reader
Check facts and examples against your source. Look for gaps, repetition and places where a reader needs a clearer explanation. AI source-review suggestions are advisory, not fact checking or permission approval.
- Step 05
Make it sound like you
Edit chapters in place, refine selected passages and save your changes. Regenerating a chapter uses 1 credit; review rewrite suggestions and keep your own examples and qualifications intact.
- Step 06
Prepare it and take it with you
Generate an AI front cover (1 credit per design), download the free full-wrap paperback cover, prepare a listing kit and run the advisory compliance review. Export a print PDF, EPUB or DOCX and check each file. VidBook does not submit to stores; acceptance and sales are not guaranteed.
Ch. 03What's inside
Your expertise, with room for your edits.
Draft from your source, shape the chapters in the editor, and leave with files you can use. You make the final editorial decisions.
Source-grounded drafting
Start from the caption file you download from YouTube Studio, pasted text, or a .txt, DOCX or text PDF upload. Each chapter is drafted from sections of your source. Review facts, examples and voice against it before sharing.
From an idea to chapters
No source yet? Start from a book idea or the guided setup. VidBook writes an AI research brief, then an outline and chapter drafts you can edit.
Read your draft as a book
Review your generated manuscript in a page-spread preview. Check the exported file separately before sharing or uploading it.
Covers and listing kit
Generate AI front covers with no people or animals, then download a free full-wrap paperback cover PDF. The listing kit drafts title options, a description, keywords and categories.
PDF, EPUB, DOCX
Export a print PDF in 6 x 9, 5.5 x 8.5, A5 or 8.5 x 11 in, EPUB for reflowable reading, or DOCX for further editing. Exports use no credits.
Inline editor and rewrite
Edit chapters in place and use rewrite controls to refine selected passages. Add your own examples and review each suggestion before saving.
Market Scout
Find book ideas with AI-estimated scores. The scores are model estimates, not sales data, and do not predict earnings. An advisory compliance review checks chapters, listing and cover.
Credit-based pricing
One credit pays for a chapter, an AI cover design or a coloring page. Coloring books of patterns, botanicals, landscapes and objects run 16, 24 or 30 pages. Start with 10 free credits.
Ch. 04What you get
You’ve already taught it. Give it another way to reach people.
One source can become a guide for a new subscriber, a resource for your students, or a manuscript to develop further. Choose PDF, EPUB, or DOCX for your next step.
- 1
A lead magnet with substance
Turn your signature lesson into a useful guide. Edit it around a specific reader problem, export a PDF, and offer it through your own website or email tools.
- 2
A course companion to revisit
Give learners a written version of your teaching. Refine the draft so they can return to a concept without replaying the whole lesson, then export PDF or EPUB.
- 3
A starting point for your book
Develop a manuscript from material you know well. Work on it in the inline editor, or export DOCX to continue revising with your editor.
Ch. 05Pricing
Choose your monthly allowance.
One credit pays for a chapter, an AI cover design or a coloring page. The 10 free credits cover one complete book of up to 8 chapters. Monthly allowances reset on renewal; request safety limits also apply.

Refund requests are reviewed individually by VidBook's owner. There is no automatic approval or refund guarantee.
Canceling a subscription stops future renewals at the end of the current paid period. It does not issue a refund or restore consumed credits.
To request a review, sign in and open Billing to use the refund-review request form for a verified invoice. If the form is unavailable, intake is not enabled in that environment. Submitting a request does not cancel your subscription or issue a refund.
This policy does not limit any statutory rights that apply to you.
Ch. 06FAQ
Questions, answered.
01Can I request a refund?
Refund requests are reviewed individually by VidBook's owner. There is no automatic approval or refund guarantee. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals at the end of the current paid period. It does not issue a refund or restore consumed credits. To request a review, sign in and open Billing to use the refund-review request form for a verified invoice. If the form is unavailable, intake is not enabled in that environment. Submitting a request does not cancel your subscription or issue a refund. This policy does not limit any statutory rights that apply to you.
02Which sources can I use?
Upload the caption file (.srt or .vtt) you download from YouTube Studio, paste a transcript or notes, or upload a .txt, DOCX or PDF file with selectable text. You can also start from a book idea or the guided setup, and VidBook writes the book from an AI research brief. Confirm you own the material or have permission to reuse it. Videos without captions are not transcribed; paste a transcript or upload your notes instead.
03How many credits does a book use?
A book uses 1 credit per chapter. Free-plan books are planned at up to 8 chapters, so the 10 free credits always cover one complete book, including the 1-credit research brief for a book started from an idea. An AI front cover uses 1 credit per design and a coloring book uses 1 credit per page. Exports and the paperback full-wrap cover PDF use no credits.
04Does VidBook publish my book to Amazon?
No. VidBook does not submit books to Amazon or any other store. You upload the files yourself. The listing kit and compliance review are advisory: they help you prepare, but they do not guarantee that a store accepts the book.
05Can VidBook make a cover?
Yes. VidBook can generate AI front cover designs for 1 credit each. Covers never show people or animals. Once you choose a front cover, the full-wrap paperback cover PDF with spine and back is free. Check it against your printer's current cover requirements before upload.
06What is Market Scout?
Market Scout suggests book ideas with AI-estimated scores for demand, buyer need, competition and originality. The scores are estimates from an AI model, not Amazon sales data, and they do not predict earnings. Scans use no credits; daily limits apply.
07Can I make a coloring book?
Yes. Choose kids or adults, a style such as patterns, botanicals, geometric shapes, landscapes and buildings, objects or food, and a length of 16, 24 or 30 pages. Each page uses 1 credit. Pages never show people or animals, and the book downloads as an 8.5 x 11 inch print PDF.
08Is there content VidBook will not help create?
Yes. VidBook does not help create books that promote or normalize alcohol, drugs, tobacco or vaping, sexual or immodest content, music or nightlife, gambling, interest-based finance, magic, astrology or the occult, or mockery of religion. Neutral or cautionary mentions are fine. Generated images never show people or animals. The full rule is on the content policy page at /content-policy.
09Can VidBook invent facts that are not in the video?
It can. Assigning transcript chunks to each chapter reduces unsupported additions, but no generative model can guarantee zero hallucinations. Compare important claims and quotations with the source video before publishing, and edit anything that changes the speaker's meaning.
10How long does a book take to generate?
Generation time depends on transcript length, chapter count, model availability and retries. The dashboard shows each pipeline stage while the server-side job runs. Treat the result as a first draft and budget additional time for fact checking, permissions, editing and export review.
11Can I edit the manuscript after generation?
Yes. You can edit generated chapters in the in-app editor and use AI rewrite controls on selected passages. Review suggested changes before saving them, then check the manuscript preview and the actual exported file. Rewrite duration depends on the request and provider availability.
12What about copyright when converting a YouTube video to a book?
VidBook is a tool. You are responsible for the source material you feed it and the book you publish. Most creators use their own videos, which is the safest path. If you use someone else's content, get permission or rely on fair-use principles you have actually verified with a lawyer.
13Do credits roll over month to month?
No. Your monthly allowance resets on a paid renewal and unused credits do not carry over. Free credits are a one-time signup grant. Use Manage billing to see available subscription options and check the price and timing before confirming a change.
14Which export formats are supported for KDP and other stores?
Books export as a print PDF interior in 6 x 9, 5.5 x 8.5, A5 or 8.5 x 11 inch trims, as EPUB and as DOCX. Exports use no credits. Print requirements vary with page count, bleed, images and cover choices, so review the PDF in Amazon's Print Previewer and correct any reported issue before publication.
15What is the difference between VidBook and ChatGPT or Claude for writing a book?
VidBook packages source intake, outlining, source-based chapter drafting, editing, covers, a listing kit and file export in one workflow. A general-purpose chat tool gives you a different way to draft and revise text. Choose based on the inputs and editing process you need; neither approach removes the need to check facts, permissions and publishing files.
